NRMjobs is a job board where you can find jobs and opportunities in environmental field, and which owned and operated in the Adelaide Hills by husband-and-wife David Mussared and Chris Duigan. They started NRMjobs in 1998.
David Mussared is a former journalist, who has been involved in land care in many different capacities since 1989. Chris Duigan is a nurse, with a background in women’s health and health administration. They believe businesses should place as much importance on supporting their communities and conserving the environment as they do on generating profits.
They have done a lot of effects to promote environmental careers, also, they have a very eco-friendly lifestyle:
- Since 2001, NRMjobs has donated more than $50,000 to environmental projects and career development.
- They have also provided practical, in-kind help to local conservation and community projects, and support, advice and assistance to organizations promoting environmental careers.
- They have no mains water (they use rainwater for all office and household purposes).
- They have solar photovoltaic panels fitted to their roof.
- They use a solar water heater, and in winter their hot water is also piped through their slow combustion heater (all firewood is collected sustainably on their own property).
- They have fenced off about a third of their property for bush land revegetation and regeneration.
