Take a warm coat and a pair of gloves! Immediate departure for Scandinavia. Let’s go to Sweden!
We first have to look at some facts and figures about this market. Sweden has around 9.6 million people and a relatively high employment rate compared with many other countries in Europe. The Swedish employment rate is higher than the European average and is about 80% of the total population (7.7 million people). The employment market is pretty mature in Sweden and the unemployment rate (7.4%) under the European average (11%). The Swedish economy goes well and companies are hiring people.
The Jobboard Finder Team has carefully analyzed the Swedish e-recruitment market and has taken an inventory of 53 job boards. 77 % of them are specialist job websites (IT, Engineering, Graduates, Healthcare, Legal, Environment …) and the other 23 % are generalists. The e-recruitment market is relatively developed in Sweden compare to the other markets in Northern Europe. In fact the Swedish market has approximately the same amount of job boards as in Norway, Finland and Denmark all together.
Among the generalist recruitment websites, there are the major players such as CareerBuilder and Monster. Jobbsafari, the Scandinavian e-recruitment media (available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Greenland) and Metrojobb, the online recruitment media of the well-known Metro newspaper are also key players in the Swedish employment market.
Whether recruiters are looking for a very specific talent, they can also advertise jobs online on niche jobs sites, especially if they are looking for an engineer. Indeed, the Swedish e-recruitment market has about 10 job sites specialized in engineering and technical jobs. Recruitment media such as NyTeknik, Ingenjörsjobb or even Ingenjörskarriär are the most popular ones. Other sectors such as the IT, Insurance, Sales & Marketing, Education, Finance… have also dedicated niche job sites.
In a nutshell, Vikings have enough choices for recruiting online and choose the best talent for their army. In fact the Swedish e-recruitment market is ranked 6th in Europe after the UK, France, Germany Italy and the Netherlands.
