Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Zarplata is a Russian generalist job board, which has been around since before the turn of the century. To find the “About Us” section and photos of the team, you need to go to the “Partners” page. From there, you can see key figures about the site and that it belongs to the International Hearst Shkulev Digital group, a network of online sites (many of which focus on women). Hearst Shkulev Digital purchased the job board in 2014, and Zarplata acquired Rabota66 in 2018. Zarplata attracts an impressive 7.69 million visits a month and is present on a number of social media platforms: there is a Viber account, a Telegram account, a VK account (with 64 894 followers), a Facebook account (1 378) and an Instagram one (776). There is also a Twitter page with 592 followers but nothing new since 2017.
Design: This job board has a dominant yellow colour. The search engine (location, metro, keyword, sector, salary) appears across the middle of the homepage and you can even click on “more filters” for the rest of them: company size, experience, type of work, education, type of hours, type of person (student, handicapped person, etc.) or the type of search. On the homepage you can see a list of job sectors (and the number of offers for each one) as well as jobs of the day and employers of the day. In the job listing, the filters remain at the top of the page. All job offers include a salary, a publication date and keywords. This makes it particularly easy to see relevant info. Most also have a logo. You can browse the employer pages (and include the type of employer you want: direct, recruitment agency or employer of the day. Furthermore, you can sort the offer by date, by relevance or by match.
The job board objective: Zarplata (which mans “payment, salary”) focuses on sharing salary information so that jobseekers know exactly what to expect from their future employer.
Recruiter observations: It’s very easy to create an account and you can link it to a number of different social media pages. However, once you are past the initial stage, you must include information about the company (minimum 250 characters), a Russian phone number and an address. If there is anything wrong with your account, the team will block it (very quickly). You can find the prices online (but everything is in Russian and it cannot be translated by Google because it’s a PDF). You can search profiles (which includes photos and professional information). You cannot open the page unless you have an account. You can find additional info about prices if you click on the list of prices.
Jobseeker observations: You need an account to apply to job offers but it takes next to no time to set up an account.
The job offers: There are 8 483 jobs online. The average salary is 46 542 roubles per month (roughly 645 euros). There are 803 companies (half what they used to have 2 years ago) listed on the site. Most of the jobs are in Security and Sales.
Reactivity: The team is very reactive! You’ll get answers to your questions or feedback about your account in no time.
Special features: The app; the mobile version; the average salary for the job offer listing; the blog (which includes a report/video section); the number of views for each article; the MediaKit (including information about the demographic, all in Russian); the job offers of the day; the employers of the day; FAQ.
Verdict: Zarplata is a great job board! It remains a very relevant job board in the country. The only downside to it is that it doesn’t offer enough language options. Otherwise, international users will be glad to see that accounts are not checked thanks to a phone number so that can create one without the hassle (unlike some Russian job boards).
