Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Zaplata belongs to Rezon Media (the group specialized in creating media outlets like imot.bg, mobile.bg, Bazar.bg and Fakti.bg). This allows it to have links on a number of popular websites, leading back to the Zaplata page for work. It was created back in 1993 and today, it is the second most visited job board in the country. The site is available in English, Russian and Bulgarian, but the job offers aren’t necessarily in different languages, and there aren’t any articles. Furthermore, it has no Twitter page, two Linkedin pages (which are actually profiles) and a Facebook page (150 457 followers). That doesn’t stop 871 240 views a month from being recorded on SimilarWeb. Information in Bulgaria can be censured and limited, and people mostly use Facebook above all the other social media outlets.
Design: The dominant colour is indigo (so a purplish blue) and the focus on the website is set solely on the job offers. Half the homepage is taken up by the search engine box, which includes the location, keywords, the category, the type of contract hours, the qualifications, the type of recruiter as well as the following boxes: only urgent jobs; seasonal work by the sea (East), seasonal work at the mountains (West). There are a few featured job offers above the newest jobs and the top employers (with logos and they are all hiring), or you can browse the 12 different categories. In the job listing, most of the job offers include the salary (which makes sense on a website called “earnings/income”) and have a logo. Some say pro or top or VIP, some have a star and there are even offers with an “only here” stamp.
The job board objective: Zaplata highlights the salary and other positive aspects of the job offers posted on their site to help jobseekers choose wisely.
Recruiter observations: You can post job offers for free, apparently. However, you need a Bulgarian fiscal number to register.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account. However, they progressively tell you what you need for your password if you make mistakes (instead of just giving instructions). Furthermore, you don’t actually need an account to apply to job offers.
The job offers: According to the website, there are thousands of job offers up for grabs. Even the categories do not indicate the number of job offers if there are more than 100.
Reactivity: They answered very quickly.
Special features: Easy feedback options; the useful links in the footer (some of which don’t work); the anonymous CV (plus examples); I choose Bulgaria; the number of views for a job offer.
Verdict: Zaplata is an easy-to-use job board for jobseekers. It would be best to get in contact with the team if you are an international recruiter though.
