Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Founded by Paolo Pinto in 2012, the name for this specialist job board is inspired by Barak Obama’s presidential campaign. If you are in hacking, developing or another IT field, then this is the job board for you. The current CEO is Guillaume Vassault-Houlière and he has promoted the site in the media (you can find video interviews online). The site is available in English and French, but all of the positions are in France (for now). It’s not possible to find any information on the traffic unfortunately. The good news is that the social media is rather impressive despite that: 5 030 followers on LinkedIn, 9 315 on Twitter and 1 181 on Facebook.
Design: The homepage emphasises the search engine (keywords and type of contract) and you can tick a box for remote work. A Keyword is required to continue your search. The rest of the site displays the latest job offers, key figures and advertising prices. So far, the site has published 1 949 job offers from 350 different companies. In the job listing, the filters are limited to job titles and countries. The good news is that you can see logos, publication dates, locations, the contract type and keywords for each job in the listing. Job offers have a standard layout. You can also check out the directory of companies (in alphabetical order), which shows you past offers from companies.
The job board objective: YesWeHack has an inspiring message for recruiters: look no further, we hack!
Recruiter observations: There are currently 4 244 candidates in the database. In addition to different packages, the site also offers services like headhunting and recruitment fairs. To create an account, recruiters will need to provide a VAT number (or SIRET), phone number and address.
Jobseeker observations: Soon, jobseekers will be able to boost their accounts. When creating an account, you must include a phone number and an address. You can also include social media and the desired position. To apply to job offers, you need an account.
The job offers: All the job offers are for positions in France. Since the keyword is required, it isn’t possible to be sure how many jobs are on the site. If you type in France, 10 offers appear.
Reactivity: --
Special features: Events; blog; job alerts; the key figures; hacktivities; the partner sites; the programs; the user ranking.
Verdict: Oddly enough, YesWeHack attracts a lot of attention on social media, but not so much on the main website. The site offers more than just recruitment services, including events and programs for upcoming hackers. If you want hackers in France, it’s worth investigating the sourcing options.
