Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Steven Cockcroft founded the website in 2017. Since creating a CyberSecurity for professionals, he has created one for graduates. Even if LinkedIn doesn’t have many followers (only 58) and the content on the specialist job board’s blog remains scarce, CyberSecurity Professionals has a decent following on Twitter (3 353 followers) and Facebook (6 375). The website is designed by Fast Recruitment Websites, and it definitely has an appealing interface (even if there is no logo in the tab). The site has seen an increase in visitors recently,
Design: If you don’t write the name of the job board in one word, you won’t find it in Google among the top results. Once on the webpage, the focus of the homepage is the search engine (keywords and location) and everything is in a clear large font. There are spotlight jobs, a list of the featured jobs and a grid of featured companies (but a third of the boxes are empty). The companies don’t have profiles on the website, but clicking on “apply” can lead to company pages. On the other hand, the featured universities have very detailed profiles, including a map, contact information and some even have videos. In the job listing, the salary information and the location are visible, but not the publication dates. You can also see the company logo, name and the job title. To cull the offers, you can use the filters (sector, area – countries and cities –, job type). When a job offer is open, similar jobs appear on the right-hand side. Useful information appears above the description, but there is no date information other than “ASAP” for the start date for most of the offers.
The job board objective: CyberSecurity Professionals focuses on the growing industry of cyber security and bringing professionals together. Several packages of books have been sent to primary schools as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility too.
Recruiter observations: Different e-mail addresses are provided depending on the type of recruiter you are (if you are a trainer, a company, a university, etc.). Recruiters must contact the team to create an account. When you recruit through CyberSecurity Professionals, a part of the fee goes towards training future professionals.
Jobseeker observations: Creating a jobseeker account is a bit of a bother because you have to fill out your online CV and download a CV before it is fully set up. You must include whether you are willing to relocate, your last or current job and the notice time. Luckily, you don't need an account to apply to jobs.
The job offers: There are 64 degrees on the website and thousands of job offers. You can see the number of job offers per category with the browse filters. There is only one course.
Reactivity: It takes the team less than a day to answer, and they are very helpful.
Special features: The blog (there are only two articles and one of them also appears on the graduate site); spotlight jobs; job alerts; the 30% of the advertising fees, which goes to free resources for schools; the webinars.
Verdict: CyberSecurity Professionals has a nice interface but the absence of publication dates had me wondering about transparency. The offers and degrees are interesting, but it would be nice to have more branding. The job board tells us that many changes are on their way, including SEO improvments, a new blog and more training courses. Keep an eye on the site, it sounds like an exciting time for CyberSecurity Professionals.
