Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2003, Vrabotuvanje is the leading generalist job board in Macedonia. In fact, it’s the 86th most visited site in the country, attracting 323 170 visitors per month. According to the website, the numbers are much higher than that but the information must be outdated. Most of the pages are available in English and Macedonian but some pages aren’t available in either! Both the Partner section and the About Us section are empty. It belongs to Alma Career and a list of partner websites are available in the footer. Since 2017, the company Tau on-line, which manages MojPosao, and Alma Career have a large stake in the site. The site still belongs to the founder Darko Velkov. On social media, there are 1 269 followers on Twitter (mostly a list of job offers) and 9 897 on LinkedIn.
Design: The search engine (keywords, regions, categories) isn’t very big but it is easy-to-use. There are a number of adverts around the screen, and even the company pages and job offers appear as large logos, which fill up the homepage. The advanced search includes the job type, professional qualifications, languages, driving categories, the publication dates and the expiry dates. You can also tick the following boxes: ‘managerial position’, ‘public services and non-profit organisations’ and ‘company accepts applications from people with disabilities’. Once in the job listing, the offers appear in a grid, displaying logos, the job title (in English or Macedonian), the location and the publication date, much like they do on the homepage. If a company has more than one job offer, they appear in a list under the logo. Each job offer has a custom design layout. You can also look through the company listing (in alphabetical order).
The job board objective: Vrabotuvanje (which means ‘employment’ in Macedonian) focuses on employment by offering a variety of services to improve hiring.
Recruiter observations: It’s easy to create an account. From there, you can select the type of advert you want (from how long you want it to be online to where you want it featured on the job board).
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can choose to look through jobs or student jobs. When you create an account, your gender, date of birth, postcode, professional qualifications and location are required.
The job offers: There are 410 job offers online. Most of them are in Other or Sales.
Reactivity: There are two e-mail addresses (in the branding section).
Special features: The news section (in Macedonian); the advice section (in Macedonian); the key figures; Hercul (the candidate sourcing tool); the branding services; the newsletter.
Verdict: Even if the traffic has dropped, Vrabotuvanje remains the leading job board in Macedonia. It’s colourful, easy-to-use and available in English. What more could you ask for?
