Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created by Alexey Nikolaevich Zakharov (алексей захаров in Russian) has been around since the turn of the century. They pride themselves on providing services for some of the biggest companies in the country, so it’s a good thing they have a large staff to look over all their customers. According to their website, they manually check each job offer. They currently have 1 450 Twitter followers, 79 949 on VKontakte and 15 817 on Facebook. Clearly, they appreciate the loyalty from their customers (by including when they started using SuperJobs on the company pages) and maybe that’s why SuperJobs is the leading job board in Russia with 18.86 million hits a month.
Design: The top of the page looks as though it could be peeled back to reveal the old design, and the same icon is present on the old back to back to the new page. On the old homepage, an image of people working is the backdrop behind the search engine and the simple options: post a CV (blue) or post a job offer (green). Below that, the website tells you what other words are currently being searched. The homepage also features three companies (and a list of their job offers), a small box with job search advice, a list of various jobs in Moscow and finally, a box with popular searches, useful search words and different types of hours to filter your search. The new layout emphasizes the mobile app through cute illustrations and different companies are featured on this homepage. They also showcase their figures more (CVs, users, job offers, etc.). Once you are in the job listing, the company, the logo, the job title and all the filter information are all visible for each job offer. Whether the company has similar offers is also indicated without even pressing on the job offer. The filters are on the right-hand side (the publication date, the salary, the type of hours, the industry, the location, the metro) and you can also choose to view only employer adverts (no recruiters), only jobs that do not require a lot of experience or that do not require any education. A job description is broken down into four parts: responsibilities, requirements, conditions and the address, with similar jobs appear underneath. Unfortunately, they don’t actually give you the date of the publication if it is over a week old. It just tells you when it was updated. If you want more information on the company, there are company pages, which can include maps and videos. The different available jobs are classified by city and by industry even on the company page. Finally, each article from the blog tells you how many people shared it and on which social media.
The job board objective: SuperJobs is a people-pleaser kind of job board. They have two different homepages and a wide range of job offers, and loyal customers.
Recruiter observations: To create an account, you need a mobile phone number and some kind of company website. If you want to use their job board to look for employees, you are redirected to an advert for their app so that you can browse CV more easily.
Jobseeker observations: It’s really easy to apply for job offers (they even write the cover letter for you, which you can alter). You do need a Russian mobile number though. Oddly enough, the homepage loses its images when you are logged in.
The job offers: 54 885 job offers. The categories with the most job offers are sales, transport and manual labour.
Reactivity: They can call you back and have three different numbers for three different cities. Chat support makes it easy to get in touch with the team.
Special features: The two different homepages; very complex advanced search; Searching right now; chat support; the career advice; the SuperJob’s founder blog; the app; the “Job acquaintance” (Работу по знакомству) feature on the app; the production calendar.
Verdict: SuperJob is a super job board, and we definitely recommend using it if you are recruiting in Russia. The founder’s blog is also an interesting read even if some of his ideas are rather extreme.
