Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Sud Ouest Emploi is the employment section of the Sud Ouest newspaper and has been since 2001. The Sud Ouest newspaper was launched in 1944 by Jacques Lemoine pour le South West of France. Information about key figures can be found in the “About us” section on the main website or even on the employment page. On social meida, there is only a small following of 458 people on Twitter and 7 453 on Facebook. Unfortunately, not all the pages are https:// secure.
Design: It is unfortunate that the first thing users see when accessing Sud Ouest Emploi is potentially an advertisement from another site (sometimes the adverts don’t pop up). This can be confusing. The search engine (keywords, function, location) appear between the advert and articles on employment. Additional articles are featured underneath and finally, there is a section on the latest job offers. You must include a keyword to use the search engine. In the listing, the filters appear as an advanced search (location, function, sector, type of contact, level of experience). Open job offers have the useful information at the top of the page. There are also company pages, which describe the company briefly (you can browse them in the company listing in alphabetical order. This includes a filter for names, locations and sectors).
The job board objective: Sud Ouest Emploi was created for a more focused job listing for the South West of France.
Recruiter observations: To recruit on the website, you must contact the team.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy for a jobseeker to create an account but the page is not secure.
The job offers: Since you need a keyword to start the search, it’s difficult to know the exact number of current job offers. It would seem that there are 198 offers. Many are in production.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The news articles; job alerts; the links to local papers.
Verdict: Sud Ouest Emploi has dropped in visibility since last year and so have the number of job offers. It’s a shame to see such a limiting search engine but Monster does it too. If you know you want to work in the South West of France, you can find jobs in that location on this job board.
