Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2013, SportCareers Agency (which used to be known as Sports Industry Jobs) is a relatively new job board, specialising in jobs for athletes and other sports professionals. Unfortunately, the traffic is not available but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any. On social media, the numbers are slightly surprising: only 802 followers on Facebook, but an impressive 21 400 on Twitter and 3 036 on LinkedIn.
Design: The site is rather colourful. On the homepage, there is a search engine (keywords, function, location), just under a large banner of moving images (which provide information about the site). The search engine is actually one of four panels (popular searches, jobs by function and jobs by location). Some jobs are featured on the home page, as well as the news and additional services. In the job listing, the filters (function, location, contract type, working hours, salary band) remain at the top of the page and you must click on “browse jobs” to see them. Job offers display the country and the logo in the listing and they have a standard layout (which includes a logo, useful information at the top and a description). Some offers cannot be viewed if you are not signed in. If you click on elite candidates, you can bring up a list of different categories (including the number of profiles in each one). From there, simply click on the category you like to see the candidate profiles. Each one includes a name, a photo, the date the person joined, a summary, qualifications, career history and key achievements.
The job board objective: By advising sports professionals on how to promote themselves, SportsCareers Agency gives them the best shot at a range of jobs.
Recruiter observations: According to the team, there are 30 000 active jobseekers. To actually order any ad space through the site, you must fill out an inquiry form.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can choose between four different accounts (only one of which is free). You must provide your date of birth and if you don’t confirm your email address within 11 hours, your account with “self-destruct” (I kind of want to wait 11 hours to see that happen).
The job offers: there are currently 79 job offers. Most of the jobs are for coaching & performance positions and most of them are in Europe.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly.
Special features: The Twitter feed; the testimonials; the partners; the live member updates; the various products (including LinkedIn Profile Design, PowerPoint Presentations and more); the news.
Verdict: SportCareers Agency is just starting out, so the traffic is low. However, the job offers are interesting (and from all over the world). Furthermore, we love how you can access candidate profiles without even having an account. We definitely recommend checking out what they can do for you.
