Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Ian Partington, the CEO and founder of the SimplyJobs job boards, is behind the SimplySalesJobs niche job board in the UK. It was created in 2009 and it focuses on sales jobs (as the name indicates). The recruitment page has a very direct advertisement approach: “No really, we are the best”. You have to admire their directness. On social media, the site has a small group of followers: 131 on Linkedin, 2 082 on Twitter and 1 988 on Facebook. About 19 280 visits are recorded on SimilarWeb every month. Keep reading for more information on SimplyMarketingJobs.
Design: The dominant colour is blue and the logo is the name with bubbles coming from the ‘I’. The homepage includes images rather than photos and is mostly made up of different groups of jobs: featured employers, recommended jobs, last viewed jobs, latest jobs and popular searches. Unfortunately, half of the featured employers are not hiring right now. To access the job listing, you can use the groups or the search engine (keywords and the location). From there, you can use the filters (the location, the job category, the salary band, the company benefits, the job types, the company type, the sector and the last updates – with the number of offers per category in brackets) to cull the job offers. Featured jobs appear on the right-hand side and similar jobs appear next to the open job offer with easy-to-use scroll buttons. According to the website, only 2 offers haven’t been updated within the last month. Yet, there are many job offers which are older than a month (the oldest ones are 7 and 8 months old). That said, there are expiry dates (indicated above the offer), which is always reassuring when unsure about how the offers are updated.
The job board objective: SimplyMarketingJobs hopes to make it simple to find jobs in marketing, and marketing professionals.
Recruiter observations: The prices are available on the site. To create your job advert, you can try a free demo through the site but you have to contact the team to do so. You can also purchase a package online and just fill out some basic information about yourself and the company.
Jobseeker observations: To apply to job offers, you need an account, which you can create just by applying to an offer. The website writes a short message for you (or you can personalise it).
The job offers: There are 1 043 job offers on the website. Most of the job offers are analysis jobs and marketing manager jobs. Most of them offer between £30K and £50K.
Reactivity: The team answers quickly and they are very friendly.
Special features: The Christmas theme (and falling snow); the blog (with three distinct categories); the flexible work survey; clear GDPR info; the CV advice; the survey on job searching; the very specific filters and subcategories; your recently viewed jobs; job alerts; the partner aggregators; the jobseeker journey (explaining the jobseeker to recruiters).
Verdict: It’s really nice to see so many different filters and subcategories to help users find what they need. The website has its flaws (the package page shows up as https://www... In the tab, the incorrect update information for the job offers, etc.), but the team answers quickly and the visibility is alright for a niche job board.
