Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Ian Partington, the CEO and founder of the SimplyJobs job boards, is behind the SimplyLawJobs niche job board in the UK. It was created in 2009 and it focuses on sales jobs (as the name indicates). The recruitment page has a very direct advertisement approach: “No really, we are the best”. You have to admire their directness. On social media, the site has a small group of followers: 728 on Linkedin, 1 486 on Twitter (nothing new since 2017) and 6 624 on Facebook (nothing new since 2017). Unfortunately, the visibility is unknown as far as SimilarWeb is concerned.
Design: The dominant colour is navy blue and the homepage has a chess game image backdrop. The page is mostly made up of different groups of jobs: jobs of the week, latest jobs, popular searches and featured employers. Moreover, the featured employers are really hiring. To access the job listing, you can use the groups or the search engine (keywords and the location). From there, you can use the filters (the location, the job category, the salary band, the job types, the company type and the last updates – with the number of offers per category in brackets) to cull the job offers. Featured jobs appear on the right-hand side and similar jobs appear next to the open job offer with easy-to-use scroll buttons. Most of the offers have not been updated in the last month. Finally, there are expiry dates (indicated above the offer), which is always reassuring when unsure about how the offers are updated.
The job board objective: SimplyHRJobs hopes to make it simple to find jobs in HR, and put HR professionals in touch with one another.
Recruiter observations: The prices are available on the site. To create your job advert, you can try a free demo through the site but you have to contact the team to do so. You can also purchase a package online and just fill out some basic information about yourself and the company.
Jobseeker observations: To apply to job offers, you need an account.
The job offers: There are 264 job offers on the website. Most of them offer between £30K and £60K.
Reactivity: The team answers quickly and they are very friendly.
Special features: The blog (which a new article every 2 years or so); the flexible work survey; clear GDPR info; the CV advice; the survey on job searching; the very specific filters and subcategories; your recently viewed jobs; job alerts; the partner aggregators.
Verdict: It’s really nice to see so many different filters and subcategories to help users find what they need. However, from the lack of updates and low visibility, it’s safe to assume that SimplyHRJobs has not been as successful as its partner websites.
