Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created in 2001, SecsintheCity (which sounds a lot like the TV show Sex in the City) is a specialist job board for PAs, EAs, secretaries and office support professionals. It belongs to Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment, which also owns GAAPweb and TotallyLegal. SecsintheCity is a rather successful job site, attracting 172 120 visits a month and the team shares job offers on social media for the 1 675 followers on LinkedIn, 3 538 on Twitter and 1 970 on Facebook.

Design: This is a Madgex job board. Therefore, the search engine (keywords, location and radius) is the focus of the homepage over a backdrop of an image. Just underneath, you can choose a category from different panels (job title, industry sector, location) or click on one of the urgent jobs. Some employers are featured on the homepage (and all are hiring). Once in the job listing, the filters include the industry, the job title, the salary, the hours, the contract type and the recruiter type. If you include a location, you are no longer browsing, but searching. In the listing, you can see the logos, the salary, the location and the company name (no publication dates) and that same useful information appears on the left-hand side once you open an offer (posted and close dates too). If you know which company you want, there is a recruiter listing (in alphabetical order) including a description and logo (if they have one). Some companies have even opted for a customised profile, with their own backdrop colour and more information on the company.

The job board objective: SecsintheCity makes it easy to recruit experienced secretaries and other office support professionals.

Recruiter observations: It’s easy to create an account. For a customised package, you must contact the team.

Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account. You need an account to apply to offers.

The job offers: There are 1 965 job offers, most of which are in banking/finance and consultancy.

Reactivity: The team answers quickly on chat support.

Special features: Chat support; the two “About us” sections; the Twitter feed; the blog; the app; job alerts.

Verdict: If you are looking for work in UK companies as a secretary, PA or something similar, then you can’t go past SecsintheCity. As a Madgex job board, recruiters and jobseekers will find it easy to navigate.
