Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: ProfilCulture is a specialist job board for anyone in a cultural and creative field. From gallery assistant to web marketer, you can find a number of interesting professions on ProfilCulture. The founders of the Italian version (launched last year) are Giulia Graffi and Filippo Dompieri. The French version was laucnehd in 2004 and attracts 491 100 visits a month, while the other is yet to attract the same attention. Surprisingly, there is practically no social media: no Twitter page and only a “training” Facebook page (with 833 followers). On LinkedIn, only the Italian site has a page with 635 followers.
Design: When you first access ProfilCulture, you might not realise it’s a job board. The dominant blue colour, few images other than flashing adverts on the side and the compact information make it look more like an informative site. There is no search engine on the homepage. You choose between accessing the job listing for all the vacancies, for just jobs or for just work experience/apprenticeships. You can also create an account, see recent jobs or access recent courses. Once in the job listing, the site looks more like a job board. The filters (keywords, contract, region, sector, industry) appear on the left-hand side, some offers are listed as urgent and there are no logos. There are, however, publication dates and starting dates. The job offers are very clear: broken down into a number of sections including the company description, the job description, the desired candidate, the starting date, the pay, the location and the website.
The job board objective: ProfilCulture makes it easy to find creative staff for positions, which can be difficult to fill correctly.
Recruiter observations: The prices are online. Recruiters can choose to have an automatic e-mail sent to candidates when the applications are received. It’s easy to create an account and order a job advert online.
Jobseeker observations: If you don’t want to create an account, you can still apply to job offers. You must write a motivation letter.
The job offers: There are currently 1 463 job offers on the site. There are far more internships than actual jobs.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The advice section (which includes job sheets and advice for an interview, working abroad, workshops and more); the list of partners; the key figures; the press adverts; downloadable CV (from your profile); the additional portals (for training, advice and skills).
Verdict: ProfilCulture is definitely an asset for French companies looking to recruit for cultural roles. If you are in art, marketing, writing, design, etc. you might very well find your next career on ProfilCulture. However, you’ll have to wait a bit for the Italian version to become relevant.
