Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Posao was the first Bosnian job portal, created by Kolektiv d.o.o in 2004. Kolektiv d.o.o operates in Bosnia-Herzegovina as a recruitment firm and it has created many other successful websites in Bosnia. Thanks to their partnership with Alma, it also has a presence across the Baltic region, the DACH countries and other Eastern European countries. Posao was a great success from the get-go, and still is. It is the 69th most visited website in Bosnia, with 300 540 views a month and 4 719 followers on Twitter and 130 553 on Facebook. The content is updated regularly.
Design: The website has kept a rather old-fashioned layout, since the homepage is cluttered with job offers and information, instead of having clear and separate sections. However, the logo is rather modern, resembling that of Google Drive or GoldenLine. All the article titles appear in a horizontal list at the top of the page, just under the search engine in three parts (adverts or companies, the category and the location). Similarly, the “premium positions” follow the same design and scroll across the top of the page. The rest of the website is a grid of all the job offers (featuring logos, company names, locations and the expiry dates). The English flag leads to a PDF on costs and advertising for foreign employers. Otherwise, the website is only available in Bosnian. In the footer, additional websites are available, be they other job boards or useful Bosnian websites. In the job listing, there is only one filter (the publication date). All the job offers show the expiry date, and a bar shows how much of the publication time has gone by, and how much is left. Other than the logo, there isn’t a lot of branding. The company pages include an additional photo and the list of job offers within the company. When you open a job offer, it pops up over the page, and if you apply, that also pops up over what is already open.
The job board objective: Posao (which means work) aims to provide just that: work for Bosnians.
Recruiter observations: It’s easy to create an account but to create your adverts, you’ll need to call the agency. When it comes to promoting your job offers, Posao can create visibility through social media, the radio and newspapers. In a country like Bosnia, the web is not always the best way to reach out to candidates so that’s a big plus. A CV database is available through the website, and you can advertise in English and/or Bosnian (for no extra cost).
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account. To apply to job offers, you don’t necessarily need a CV. You do however need either a completed profile, a CV or a cover letter.
The job offers: There are currently 2 364 job offers.
Reactivity: They answer very quickly, and they are very friendly. Useful information about their website and answers to questions are top notch.
Special features: The salary comparator website; salary calculator (on the website); the partner websites; the partner recruitment website; the Swiss website helping Bosnia-Herzegovina transition into a democracy; the premium employer’s club; the articles (news, press, advice and blog).
Verdict: Posao might not be the prettiest job board, but it does what it sets out to do: it provides Bosnians with updated job offers and current news on the labour market. It was the first job board and that alone has made it a trusted portal.
