Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Novojob was co-founded by Oussama Esmili in 2017 as a generalist job board present in a number of Africa countries: Algeria, Benin, the Ivory Coast, Morocco and Senegal. Even though it has only been around for a short while, Novojob is already making a buzz by recently purchasing AmalJob, the second largest job board in Morocco. It’s no wonder people are talking about it since Novojob has brought an effective job board to countries that need it most. On SimilarWeb, 150 790 views a month are recorded, with 42% coming from the Ivory Coast, 17% from Morocco, 12% Senegal, 8% Benin and 6% from Algeria. On social media, the group is staying active on Facebook (92 880 followers) but not so much on Twitter (there are different pages for the portals each with about 100 followers). Novojob has three different LinkedIn pages and each has its own (impressive) following: 1 394 followers, 34 690 followers and 93 415 followers.
Design: The homepage encourages you to sign up. In fact, you can only see the sign up/sign in box before scrolling down for the search engine (keywords and location). It isn’t actually compulsory to register if you just want to browse the offers though. Top companies (which are all hiring), top jobs and different search options fill up the homepage to help start the job search. Once in the job listing, you can refine your search with the filters (location, function, experience, job level, sector, education level), or browse different sectors, functions and locations. Even though there are no company pages, you can look up the offers for a specific company. Some job offers have more branding than other ones, but all of them include useful information above a job description. A logo and company information are on the right-hand side and an optional banner appears across the top of the offer.
The job board objective: Novojob hopes to infiltrate the African market and improve it by offering good service and interesting job offers.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters must contact the website to create an account and recruit. There is a CV database but no prices online.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can create an account with Facebook, LinkedIn or an e-mail address. An online CV is created for you, but you can also upload your own. Even without a CV or cover letter, you can apply to offers.
The job offers: In total, there are 1 612 job offers, 95 of which are in the Ivory Coast. In that area, most of the vacancies are in Banking, Insurance and Services.
Reactivity: You can contact the team through Facebook.
Special features: the blog; testimonials (users are encouraged to share their experience); the instructive videos; job alerts.
Verdict: Novojob might be new, but it’s already successful. If you’re recruiting in an African country with Novojob, or looking for work, be sure to check what it can offer you.
