Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Mustakbil (which means “future” in Urdu) has been around since 2004. Even if it only gets half as many visits as Rozee, the generalist job board is ranked 214th for its web activity in Pakistan and it updates its social media for its various followers (3 014 on Twitter, 65 936 on Facebook and 92 597 on Linkedin). Indeed, despite what you might think, Mustakbil is a popular job board in Pakistan with a solid focus on job offers (technically, they have a blog but it seems to have been abandoned since 2017 and there don’t seem to be any links on the website to the blog page).
Design: Purplish blue colour is the main colour on the homepage which hides the search engine (in two parts). The featured jobs are in three categories in grid form: premium job offers, hot job offers and latest job offers. There is no number of job offers or number of pages , and some of the job offers still listed are months old (even if the “last date” has past). Each job offer includes a lot of essential information (the salary, publication date, deadline, the hours, the location, whether it requires travel, etc.) when listed and once opened. There are also “similar job in (location)” and “jobs in (company)” buttons. On the company pages, the backdrop and photo make them look like social media profiles (there are also company reviews and ratings, which appear at the bottom of job offers). Finally, at the bottom of the homepage, there are various ways to look up jobs: categories, career level, shifts, type, and location.
The job board objective: At the time, Pakistan needed a more efficient way to look for job offers. Mustakbil’s goal was to offer a solution.
Recruiter observations: You need to include a national registration number, a website, when your company was founded and how many people work with you. When trying to create an account, the page would not load with our information so you need to wait to hear back from the site.
Jobseeker observations: To apply to job offers, you need an account. Once you have an account, you need to fill in the entire CV or import one from Linkedin. Social media links and your marital status are just some of the sections to fill out. Furthermore, you can’t even complete the CV if you have not finished adding your personal information.
The job offers: It’s difficult to get a proper idea of what jobs are being advertised.
Reactivity: Automatic messages are sent straight away. They take about a day for a real message which says they will contact you later.
Special features: Following companies; company reviews; scam advert information (under the application button).
Verdict: They did some things right, but it is difficult to get a clear idea of their job offers because they do not delete old ones or offer enough information about the available positions. Furthermore, the process of creating an account is tedious.
