Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Marketing Week Jobs is a specialist job board for marketing professionals and it belongs to the business magazine Marketing Week, based in London. The magazine was launched in 1978 by its cofounders, Graham Sherren, Michael Chamberlain and Anthony Nares. The group has grown over the years and it has proven to be very successful. You can also request econsultancy, but it is a separate online training and subscription service, which did have its own jobs board until March when Marketing Week and MW Jobs merged to create one hub of all marketing and digital vacancies. On social media, there are 21 674 followers on LinkedIn, 5 479 on Instagram, 110 056 on Facebook and 214 000 on Twitter. In addition to the main pages, there is a second Twitter page (3 354) and a second Facebook one (917) just for jobs. All up, the site attracts about 974 230 visits a month and almost 40 000 for the job section.
Design: As a Madgex job board, the layout follows a somewhat standard design. The search engine (keywords, location and radius) appears in the middle of the homepage, followed by featured sectors and job disciplines. You can also see featured jobs, articles and companies. In the job listing, it distinguishes between browsing and searching. The publication or expiration date are visible depending on how long the job has been online. Most also have a logo and all of them provide some salary information. As for the filters, we have the job discipline, the sector, the salary, recruiter type, contract type, experience level, regions and hours. For the company listing, you have a small search engine (keywords and type of recruiter) too.
The job board objective: Marketing Week hopes to bring its readers useful information about career opportunities in the marketing sector.
Recruiter observations: You must contact the team for information about advertising. The site no longer has a CV database.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account and apply to job offers.
The job offers: There are 940 job offers on the site. Most of the offers are in General Marketing, Communications, Brand & Product or Digital.
Reactivity: The team is helpful and answers quickly.
Special features: Job alerts; the app; the career insight; the newsletter.
Verdict: Marketing Week is a website any marketing professional should know about. Being able to find a job is an additional perk. Recruiters should take into consideration the popularity of the site when choosing to use it for their recruitment campaigns.
