Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: LeForem is the governmental job board for the Walloon part of Belgium. For a government website, it is surprisingly attractive and easy-to-use. It also has a number of active social media: 3 836 followers on Twitter, 9 097 on YouTube, 14 239 on LinkedIn, 620 on Instagram and 37 249 on Facebook. It attracts 1 million views a month on average, most of which come from Belgium unsurprisingly. It has definitely come a long way since it was created in December in 1988 (the physical Office National de l’Emploi was created in 1961). You can read more about the history of LeForem on the website.
Design: The job board design is quite appealing, made up essentially of large block colours. As a government employment website, it’s not just about the job offers. At the top of the page, you can alternate between the citizen, company, partner and youth panels. In the citizen panel, you have the search engine (keywords and the location) at the top of the page. In the advanced search, you can also choose to see the description in the listing, choose the sector, job, radius, study level, beginning and end date of your contact, type of hours, type of contact, the benefits, the language skills, specific knowledge, qualifications and the licence requirements. The job listing displays some useful information (like the required experience and the publication date) but no logos. The job offers themselves are relatively long and detailed, with useful information at the top and contact information down the bottom.
The job board objective: LeForem offers recruiters and jobseekers information on employment and it aims to provide each user with all the essential tools to get ahead.
Recruiter observations: To create an account, you need a company number from the BCE (Banque Carrefour des Entreprises). Otherwise, you must contact the website (and even the form requires a national number and other personal information).
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can create an account with or without their ID card. A registration number is required but you can make it up. To apply to the job offers, you don’t actually need an account though because job offers have contact details.
The job offers: There are currently 55 300 job offers on the site.

Special features: The hundreds YouTube videos; the useful links in the footer; the explanatory video; the events and courses; information on financial aid; the numbers of newly trained unemployed people (which companies are encouraged to hire); worker reconversion information; THE NEWS AND CALENDAR. career fairs; job testing; courses; so much more.
Verdict: As a governmental website, there are so many additional features that we can’t list them all. Needless to say that LeForem has a lot to offer its users. For international recruitment however, LeForem is rather difficult to navigate. It is really for local use.
