Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2004, L4M is a generalist job board focused on the North of France. Not only does the site post job offers and internships from all over France, but the group also organises exhibitions and job fairs in the North, Pas-de-Calais, Picardie, Normandy and Brittany. It attracts 142 710 views a month (about 50 000 of the views come from African countries) and they are particularly present on Twitter for 1 169 followers, where they share many photos of past job fairs. There are another 4 970 followers on Facebook, 622 on Linkedin and 19 on Youtube. The head of the website is Arnaud Vucher-Bondet.
Design: On the homepage, the focus is on the search engine (keywords, the location and the type of offer). There are also a number of offers featured on the homepage (new ones and top ones), and a list of the top cities, top industries, top job titles, top companies. If you look through the ‘top’ lists at the top of the page, you’ll have to cull the offers. Otherwise, you can access the entire list by going through the search engine and then using the filters (the job sector, the location, the type of offer – job or internship – and the level of studies). The job offers are clear, the useful information is on the left-hand side and a banner image appears above the offer. There are also company pages, which are listed in alphabetical order (if you run your mouse over the name, you can see the number of current job offers and the different positive aspects of the company). Companies can highlight their dedication to diversity, their willingness to hire older people and their handicap programs.
The job board objective: L4M (which stands for “Looking For Mission”) makes it their mission to help jobseekers and recruiters find each other. The focus is on the North of France.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can hide the name of the company. The site indicated that there was an issue with the postcode so I couldn’t complete the account validation.
Jobseeker observations: when creating a profile, you have to fill in a number of fields before your page can become visible to recruiters. To apply to job offers, you simply send your CV, a message and an optional cover letter.
The job offers: There are currently 3 227 job offers, 55 internships and 922 courses on the site.
Reactivity:--
Special features: The Youtube videos; the photo of the team holding axes; the articles; the job sheets (which include similar jobs, the assignments, the salary, etc.); the job alerts; the list of education centres (including the number of courses); the unicorn on the error page.
Verdict: L4M displays clear information. It’s always a bit unfortunate when technical issues arise because users are dependent on the reactivity of the team. That said, L4M is definitely worth checking out for job offers.
