Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Kliniken is a network of clinics, care centres and supply groups. The site was founded in 1996 and belongs to a larger group called Vivai, which is also responsible for creating HospitalScout and MedStep. Vivai and Kliniken is co-owned by Dr. Bettina Horster. In addition to healthcare portals, Vivai heads up a number of other projects (including a hotel and culture directory), which you can find on their website. The main page receives 166 390 visits a month, which basically corresponds to the employment traffic. On social media, there are 11 729 followers on Facebook, 278 on Twitter (no updates since 2017) and 17 followers on LinkedIn. There is also a Xing page.
Design: Oddly enough, the logo/name is black and white but the site colour scheme is dominantly green. Since this website offers more than just a job board, the job offers are in “Jobbörse” at the top of the page. If you prefer to use the search engine (keywords) on the homepage, you can. Even if there are no logos in the listing, the branding is pretty good when you consider all the information on the company pages and the completely customisable job offers. There are no additional filters and the offers appear in large boxes in a grid. That said, a list of specialties and positions, nursing sectors, medical professions, therapeutic positions and administrational positions are available on the job homepage, which can help filters the offers. Useful information is visible in the listing (not including the publication date). The company portraits are like company pages, but they are slightly more detailed. The company pages can be accessed by clicking on the employer name instead of the job title. In addition to a banner image, a description and useful information, the site also indicates the different departments and the top 10 diagnostics.
The job board objective: Kliniken provides jobseekers and recruiters with a complete guide to the healthcare industry in Germany and a couple of the bordering countries.
Recruiter observations: Job offers are posted on the site for 8 weeks. The prices are online and you can even view the different candidate categories (and the number of CVs in each one). When creating an account, the team needs to validate the account.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy for jobseekers to create an account. For a number of offers, you are redirected to another page.
The job offers: There are currently 367 job offers. There are many positions for medical interns.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly.
Special features: The top 10 clinics (which appear on a map next to a list of names and addresses, which even tracks their evolution; you can even select a specific illness, location or year for a different ranking; some include a quality report); the list of nursing homes; the list of hospitals; the courses; the past events; the price calculator tool; the jobs by postcode (which includes Switzerland and Austria); the career tips; the list of universities with medical and dental courses; the list of medical supply services; the explanation of their different reports; key figures; the number of views for each offer.
Verdict: Unfortunately, a number of the subsections on the homepage lead to error pages. That said, the site is actually very useful and informative. If you are looking to hire in Germany or even just to gain a better understanding of the medical professions in the country, then Kliniken is a fountain of information.
