Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2001, Karieri is a Bulgarian generalist job board. Having been on the market for so long, Karieri knows a lot about employment in Bulgaria. The site is available in English and Bulgarian. However, the information (articles and such) is not translated. The owners of the site are listed as Ivo Georgiev Prokopiev et Teodor Ivanov Zahov. One name has a link leading to a list of team members and the other leads to a blog. On social media, there are 1 948 followers on Twitter, 38 450 on LinkedIn, 24 050 on Facebook and 57 on YouTube. Today, about 50 000 people visit the site each month, which is a huge drop compared to a few years ago.
Design: Since our last test, the site has come a long way and has updated the site completely. The colour scheme is white and green. There is a search engine (for keywords and locations) at the top of the page. The rest of the homepage displays articles, followed by different offers (work, internships, projects). Finally, you have some employer logos and the choice to find info as a recruiter or a jobseeker. In the listing, there are logos, publication dates and expiry dates. The advertisements on the right-hand side have been turned into filters: city, industry, department, type of position. Some job offers follow the standard layout, and others have opted for a more appealing font and a logo but ultimately, the information is clear and easy to find. You can also search the companies on the site.
The job board objective: Karieri (which means career) offers advice to recruiters and job offers to jobseekers.
Recruiter observations: To advertise on Karieri, recruiters must contact the team. There is clear information about advertising, creating an account and posting ads.
Jobseeker observations: It's easy to register with Facebook or an email. For most offers, there is no need to register since the site redirects you to an application page.
The job offers: There are currently under 120 something job offers on the site at the moment. All of them are for positions, which require a high level of education and experience.
Reactivity: The team answers quickly.
Special features: The mobile version of the site; the job sheets (which may lead to a different site); blog (and all its sections); career club; case studies; internships; partner sitess; the YouTube videos.
Verdict: Karieri is a goldmine for information in Bulgaria. Unlike some of the Western European countries, it can be difficult to find detailed blogs, career sheets and other useful guides on Eastern European job boards. Here, there are only a few jobs, but more than enough articles to plan out your next recruitment campaign or career plan.
