Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Kariéra Zoznam, which is a part of the Zoznam website, was created in 2008. Zoznam, however, has been around for decades (since 1997) and is the 11th most visited website in Slovakia with 24.68 million views per month. The website belongs to Slovak Telekom, and therefore, so does Kariéra Zoznam. The job part of the website only attracts 914 00 visits a month. More than just an ordinary job board, Kariéra.Zoznam provides various tests for jobseekers and recruiters in order to match users more precisely. They also have an interesting blog (which they feature on the homepage), which covers a variety of topics.
Design: The homepage is straightforward: a search engine in two parts (keywords and location) is at the top of the page, followed by some suggested searches. A number of companies are featured in the top companies section (even though some are not hiring). Those with no job offers do not appear in the company list (which is very long and indicates the number of job offers for each company in brackets). There are no actual company pages; instead, they are described in the job offers (and most job offers also include the starting date for the position). At the bottom of the page, different categories are listed with the number of job opportunities in each one. Once on the job listing, the filters include the location, the industry, the hours, whether or not you need a diploma, the minimum education required, the publication date, the required language skills (levels are included for German and English), the salary and other skills. Jobs within their own company are featured on the side. Each job offer has radically different layout. The pages are stylish but it can be a bit confusing to see such different designs each time. Under each one, other offers from the same company are listed.
The job board objective: By using various tests, Kariéra.Zoznam (which means, “career list”) aims to make the recruiting process more accurate.
Recruiter observations: To create an account, you can simply send your company name and ID to the website. If they cannot find you, you must fill out a form and a postcode and a tax number are required. You can look people up based on their scores on the website’s tests.
Jobseeker observations: You don’t need a CV (or an account) to apply to job offers. You can add your CV to their database to find work too. If you create a CV on their website (and you can create several), they display the different steps of the process. Most of the information is optional, but it’s nice to know you can add your test results, your driver’s license level and the position you are looking for.
The job offers: 12 428 job offers on their website right now. 22 000 CVs. Among the most popular categories, we have real-estate & construction, engineering & technology and tourism. Translation, journalism and volunteer work are among the least popular.
Reactivity: They answer very quickly. Contact information is easy to find and a message box appears on the screen on the employer page.
Special features: The personality and language tests (19, however, there are some mistakes in the English one); the blog; the legal advice section of the blog; job alerts;
Verdict: It’s a bit unfortunate that Zoznam has lost some of its popularity to new media and news websites. However, it remains among the top sites, and that includes its job section. Kariéra.Zoznam is easy to use and provides interesting information for its users.
