Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Jofogas (which means “good catch” in Hungarian) is the most popular classifieds website in Hungary. It was created in 2010 by Schibsted, it has some of the same easy-to-use features as their other classifieds job boards (Blocket, Leboncoin, etc.). It even has the same logo as the French equivalent! They have 387 072 Facebook followers and many Youtube videos but not Twitter page. It It is the 10th most visited website in Hongary with as many as 17.94million visits per month.
Design: By clicking on “Allas” (which means jobs), the jobs section appears on the screen. Unlike some more traditional job boards, Jofogas provides a search engine box with a number of criteria to fill in like on a travel website. The job listing shows the job title (which is usually a sentence) in big blue letters and the salary in a large orange font if it is provided. The location and publication date are also visible. Much like a lot of classified job boards, the sorting is a bit peculiar (by default, from the cheapest to the dearest or the other way around). The images are quite big (but they are rarely logos) and some job offers are “highlights” (kiemelt). As for the filters, you have the category, the location, keywords and the salary. For the job offers which include a phone number, you can contact the employer directly. Otherwise, you need an account. A small number of job offers are featured with large images on the homepage. Each job offer includes important information, a description and a map. Underneath, some bargains are listed.
The job board objective: Jofogas makes it easy to find bargains, be it in employment or for purchases.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can easily create an account, much like any other user. You can add up to 10 photos for your advert but you need to have a relatively long job title (at least 12 characters). To create a national advert, it costs extra. Otherwise, it can be advertised locally, or in multiple regions. For those interested in different package deals, the pricing information is available on the website, as well as photos of the team. The only issue is that a Hungarian number is required.
Jobseeker observations: It’s very easy to create an account and to apply to jobs. When you apply, the website gives you advice about security measures and exchanges. You need to include a short message but the CV is optional. They verify your phone number though.
The job offers: There are 23 236 job offers on Jofogas at the moment. There are a lot of positions in services or restauration. There are all kinds of interesting “one-off” jobs or odd jobs on the website.
Reactivity An automatic message says it takes at least a day, but they answered us within about 5 hours.
Special features: The lion mascot; the meeting place (“talalkozasipontok” – even if the lion is a bit creepy); the Youtube videos; the phone number verification.
Verdict: Jofogas is one of the leading classifieds websites in the world! Their job board is easy to use, but it is mostly for odd jobs or one-off jobs.
