Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: JobTopGun, which belongs to SuperResume, is a generalist job board in Thailand launched in 2000. As far as visibility is concerned, the site does rather well, attracting 861 240 visitors a month. On social media, there are 909 501 followers on Facebook, 4 046 on YouTube, 2 214 on Instagram and there is a Line account. To be fair, some of the following is actually for SuperResume. The nice thing about JobTopGun is that there are language options.
Design: The homepage focuses on the search engine (keywords, field, location, degree, salary) and featured companies (on the right-hand side). You can also select a category to start your job search. In the job listing, you have extra filters: work experience, industry and job type. You can view the offers in a list, or in a list with an open offer next to it. Job offers can include images, videos, maps and even slides. Publication dates and logos are both visible in the listing. You can also see the salary if it is disclosed (which is rarely). Luckily, the salary filters enables jobseekers to hide job offers, which don’t offer enough. In the company listing, you can filter the companies by industry (and they appear in a grid of logos). They don’t actually lead to a profile, but rather a list of job offers.
The job board objective: JobTopGun has gone for a transparent approach when it comes to the job search and the candidate search. You feel much safer investing in the product when you know what to expect.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can test the CV database and see everything on the profile (except contact details). The filters are the field, the location and the degree (and keywords). Recruiters can register on the website by ordering an advert package.
Jobseeker observations: As a jobseeker, you must fill out your online CV. It’s a bit long and tedious. The job board is helpful though, it even suggests job titles based on your education. You must include your height, weight, at least 5 strengths (which you must then rank), the music you play, your hobbies, sports, outdoor activities, etc.
The job offers: There are over 15 200 job offers and a number of the categories have over 1 000 job offers. The ones with the most are Engineering and Sales.
Reactivity: There is chat support.
Special features: The YouTube videos; the number of CVs per category (field, experience, degree, province, university); the list of leading companies; the list of SMEs; free CV access (without contact details); chat support; the app; the CV visibility options; the SuperMatch.
Verdict: JobTopGun definitely offers an interesting CV database and more than enough information on the candidates. It’s a shame there is no blog but the search options make up for that.
