Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: JobThai appeared at the beginning of the 2000s and for a simple reason: the Thai labour market was experiencing a change. At the turn of the century, agriculture started to drop and manufacturing and service jobs started to rise. JobThai dominates the online labour market with almost 90 000 job offers and over 1.5 million CVs in its database. On social media, they currently have 775 228 followers on Facebook, 22 091 on VK, 5 421 on Twitter and 472 on Linkedin. The website is partially translated into English (but most of the adverts can’t be translated) and information is easy to find, which is probably why 3.45 million visits are recorded every month.
Design: Everything on the homepage is flashy, colourful and compact. There are a lot of adverts and information but it is surprisingly easy to navigate. There is a jobseeker and recruiter panel at the top of the page to direct your search, or you can stay on the home page and look through the Urgent jobs describe the job (the logo is next to the description), hot jobs (flashy advertisements), new jobs (with a logo on the left and number of positions) or browse all the jobs (in specific categories). A tiny interactive map can help search jobs based on location, or the search engine in three parts (location, category, keywords and a “disability jobs” button) can filter your search. Jobs can be looked up based on their category, industry, province, industrial estate, bus route or the company (alphabetically). Each job offer includes the responsibilities, the job location, the number of positions, the salary, the qualifications, how to apply and contact information. The CVs are also very detailed.
The job board objective: JobThai aims to make finding a job easier for Thai jobseekers.
Recruiter observations: It is helpful to have two different contact e-mails addresses depending on your request (support or advertising) and clear pricing information is already available on the website (with a large range of packages). It’s easy to look through CVs (based on preferred positions, field of education, and the level of education, age or region). On the CVs, you can see the desired salary, the education, the location, the gender, the age, the experience, the marital status, the religion, the weight and the height, skills, languages and what the person has applied for. They even have a score. Recruiter accounts need to be approved.
Jobseeker observations: It is rather easy to create an account but some of the information included on the CV is unusual (weight, height, gender, the position you are looking for, etc. and you have to include the last two). On your dashboard, you can see if companies have viewed your profile, but you cannot apply to offers until your CV has been approved.
The job offers: The industries with the most CVs are purchasing and manufacturing. Purchasing employees, manufacturing employees and technicians are most in demand. The website has a few thousand extra jobs compared to last year (and about 500 are international jobs).
Reactivity: They answer with an automatic message if your account has not been validated but they do not give personalized feedback to help validate it.
Special features: The blog (in several parts. It tells you how many people have viewed the posts); all the figures.
Verdict: JobThai is a smart choice for recruiters. It is easy to use and very popular.
