Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Founded at the end of the 20th century and originally known as Робота Плюс (or Robot Plus), Jobs.ua is a popular generalist job board in the Ukraine. It attracts as many as 1.04 million views a month (mostly from the Ukraine) and it has popular social media pages: 12 190 followers on Facebook, 1 172 on Youtube, 2 643 on Twitter but no Linkedin page (just a group). The website is available in Russian and Ukrainian.
Design: The homepage is very colourful. The backdrop image is of people from many different walks of life, with the search engine (keywords and the location) over it. Under that, the page is full of logos of hiring companies and icons for the different categories. You can also view all the job offers in a particular city. There are many extra links on the website, including the partner websites and the company listing (in alphabetical order), where you can see the companies with their logos in a list. On the company pages, the image the colours change for the more elaborate ones. In the job listing, the featured jobs are blue and some are “VIP”. Many job offers include the price (which is visible in the listing), but the contact information doesn’t appear automatically. You have to click on “show contact information” and you don’t know how much or how little you will get. A name? An address? Maybe more. The filters are in the advanced search: the sector, the city, the experience, the type of hours, the education, the type of employer, the salary. You can also tick two boxes (one about benefits and the other about holidays). You can choose to view brief, detailed or every detailed job offer information. Finally, there is a “Study abroad” section, where the countries are with the wrong flags.
The job board objective: The goal of Jobs.ua is to making recruiting faster. By giving jobseekers contact information to contact recruiters, you can be sure that the process is faster than going through the middle man.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters and jobseekers create the same type of job offer.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account, but you don’t necessarily need one seeing as many job offers have contact information.
The job offers: There are many jobs in clubs on the site. There are 5 365 job offers at the moment. The most popular categories are desk jobs, food jobs, sales jobs and jobs in transport.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The list of universities; the salary statistics (with the number of job offers for a given job and the average salary as well as the number of CVs for the same position and the average salary); the Youtube videos; the courses; the CV examples; the law section; the cover letter examples.
Verdict: If you’re willing to spend some time on the site, you’re bound to find a lot of interesting information, be it on laws in the Ukraine or different universities. It’s a bit strange to see the flags with the wrong countries. As for the job offers, there is definitely an original mix of adverts.
