Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2000, JobScout24 is an aggregator for Switzerland. The traffic has been dropping since September and it is currently around 742 690 visitors a month. This is still rather high and it offers the jobs in languages (English, French, German). There are 569 followers on Twitter (but nothing new since 2014), 11 755 on Facebook (nothing new since 2017), 59 on YouTube and 198 on LinkedIn. If you’re looking for work in Switzerland or want an idea of the market, JobScout24 is an interesting tool.
Design: The search engine (keywords and location) is practically the only thing on the homepage. It can also be used to find apprenticeships. When in the job listing, one offer is automatically open and the others appear in a list. They include publication dates and some keywords like top listing or specialist responsibility). The open job offer usually has a reasonably long description, a logo and can even have a rating/review. The advanced options at your disposal for the job search are category, subgroup, level of employment (which is a percentage), employment type, sector, position, publication date and languages.
The job board objective: JobScout24 scrapes the internet for job offers from all over Switzerland and displays them in one handy place to help jobseekers gain a global idea of the market.
Recruiter observations: It’s easy to order a job slot online. You can even advertise for free if you use the app.
Jobseeker observations: Depending on the offer, you can apply through JobScout24 or a different site. For that reason, you don’t actually need an account but if you would like to create one anyway, you can quite easily (with an e-mail address, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn).
The job offers: There are currently 212 387 offers online. Most of them are in Construction, IT and Engineering. Most jobs require German.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The advice section (with articles for specific aspects of jobhunting, like a resignation letter); company reviews (which you can add to if you are a current or former employee); the FinanceScout24 blog (which has nothing to do with the jobhunt); the app; the YouTube videos.
Verdict: JobScout24 is the type of tool to use in addition to others. Much like Indeed, it offers access to the different offers from all over the web. The advantage is that it only focuses on Switzerland and it offers relevant filters for those in the country.
