Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Jobat is a generalist job board in Belgium. Even if the job board is available in three languages, the three portals don’t have the same tools and information. It attracts 1.72 million visits a month and it keeps its users updated thanks to a newsletter and the social media. There are 7 230 followers on Twitter (on the Dutch one and another 1 195 on the French one), 4 030 LinkedIn and another 70 847 on Facebook. In the “About us” section, you can contact anyone from the team directly (and see their photo). Unfortunately, the site provides little information about the history of the company.
Design: The homepage only displays sections of the job board, which relate to the job search. This means you can use the search engine (keywords and the location), the search categories (which also indicate the number of jobs for category) or you can click on featured offers. If you are in the English section, job offers are really all there is to see on Jobat. However, the Dutch and French versions also offer a number of special features and a blog. In the job listing, the filters (languages, publication dates, the location, the company, the type of function, the job title, the type of contract and the type of hours) appear on the right-hand side. Publication dates, logos and sometimes benefits are visible in the job listing. Some of the offers are completely customised, others have a more standard layout. This is particularly true for the company pages. The company listing displays the profiles in a grid, which shows logos and the number of current job offers, in alphabetical order. Company pages include a large banner image, multimedia, maps, current job offers and are completely customisable.
The job board objective: Jobat caters to the different regions of Belgium by adapting to each.
Recruiter observations: In the recruiter section, there are very detailed PDFs about the prices as well as statistics. You can order job adverts through the site.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account and apply to offers. The site suggests including an optional cover letter. For some offers, you are redirected.
The job offers: There are 15 756 job offers. Most of them require Dutch-speaking jobseekers and most of them are in engineering and sales (but other categories also have many job offers)

Special features: Job alerts; next/previous buttons; the blog (in French and Dutch); the legal section; the salary section; the awards; the salary calculator and other tools; the tests; the notice period calculator; the Jobat statistics; employment calculator; the newsletter; the links (at the bottom of the page, including one for freelancers).
Verdict: Jobat is probably more popular in the Flemish region of Beligum. That said, the French part of the job board is just as full and interesting as the Dutch one. Only the English version is missing some information but English isn’t one of the national languages. The statistics and additional tools are always a great addition to any job board.
