Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Internships is a Chegg service, which is a website for students who need help with their studies and their homework. Internships is a specialist job board for internships ONLY for the US. It has an impressive following on Twitter of 19 200 followers on Twitter, but nothing new since 2017. Furthermore, the account is actually the Chegg Career Centre page. Chegg Inc also have 29 215 followers on LinkedIn, 15 193 on YouTube and 603 291 on Facebook. More than 1.23 million people visit the site every month.
Design: The site has an attractive homepage, even if the search engine is relatively far down. It is easier to click on “start your search” than actually use the search engine (keywords and location) on this job board. If you are logged into the site, you cannot use the search engine without a keyword. Otherwise, you can. Once in the listing, the filters (type of offer, location, remote or local, employer type, compensation, type of hours) appear on the left-hand side. Even if there aren’t any logos, the job boards are quite colourful. They indicate the type of hours, the location and the publication date, if the offer is remote and if it is paid. The offers can be sorted by relevance, application deadline or newness. Open offers have useful information (including a map) above a description.
The job board objective: Internships hopes to cater to the news of students, whether they’re looking for internships, student jobs or entry-level jobs.
Recruiter observations: International recruiters cannot use this website
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can either upload a CV or fill out the online one to create an account. The site has a CV parser so most of the information is extracted from the uploaded CV.
The job offers: There are 21 249 internships online. There are also entry-level jobs and student jobs.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The predictor; the resume parser; Internship Basics (and other resources); personalised internship widgets; the mobile version.
Verdict: It’s unfortunate that international users cannot so much as access the recruiter page. Clearly, the site is successful and it has a user-friendly design so if you’re in America, check it out for internships and student jobs.
