Summary: Ictjob is an IT specialist job board in Germany created in 2009. The first site appeared in Belgium and then spread to Germany and Luxembourg. However, the German version is completely different to the other two. To find out more about the portal, you can find information on the website and even photos of the two main team members in the career section. On social media, Ictjob has more Linkedin followers (514) than Facebook ones (77).
Design: Despite being a part of the Ictjob Belgium group, Ictjob has a very different design. The main colour is navy blue and there are two different search engine options. Either you can opt for the classic search engine, which has a location and keyword field, or you can use the “select-you-keywords” search engine, where you choose the location, the field or the position from suggested keywords. You cannot use the search engines without filling out the information. Under the search options, you can also see an events section and featured companies (which are all hiring). It is not possible to see 100s of job offers: you can only see 10 offers, rate them, and then see another 10. However, depending on the search options from the beginning, you might not get any job offers at all. If you do get a list of job offers, you’ll see that they have great branding, with clear information and attractive photos.
The job board objective: By making it compulsory to select specific keywords and view only a limited number of job offers at a time, Ictjob hopes to make the job search more efficient for recruiters and jobseekers.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can create an account effortlessly, but for additional options, it’s best to go through the team.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers don’t need an account to apply to job offers. When you click on apply, you are redirected to another site or an e-mail window appears. Jobseekers can also create alerts but not a full account.
The job offers: It is impossible to say how many job offers are on Ictjobs since you can only see offers based on a combination of different criteria. However, the team tells us that there are between 1 000 and 3 000.
Reactivity: In the recruitment window, there is chat support. The team answers very quickly and they are quite helpful.
Special features: Chat support; the testimonials; the blog.
Verdict: The idea of the website is clever, but it can also be off putting. Ictjob is not for everyone, but as a specialist job board, that’s just the way it is supposed to be.
