Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: HotellerieJobs is a specialist job board for Quebec in the hotel, tourism and restaurant sectors. It was launched in 2007 by Mathieu Laveau and it increased its posting by 20% between 2017 and 2018. It attracts 77 560 visits a month, and it keeps its social media updated for the 13 002 followers on LinkedIn, 1 534 on Twitter and 1 870 on Instagram. On Twitter, there are mostly lists of jobs though. It ca be confusing to see the “About Us” section on the right-hand side but it is there!
Design: From the moment you go onto the website, you are in the thick of things. The light green colour and white make for an inviting colour-scheme. You can already see the filters (location, keywords, categories, type of contract) on the left-hand side and the number of job offers down the bottom of the list. In the listing, you can see publication date and logos. An open offer displays the start date, job type and category on the right-hand side, above the social media. The rest is the description. Employer pages are mostly a list of job offers, with a logo, address and map.
The job board objective: HotellerieJobs has developed the tourism industry in Quebec and continues to do so!
Recruiter observations: Recruitment agencies need to contact the job site directly to advertise. Only companies can order job offers through the site. You can list the offer as confidential (to hide the logo and the company name). Recruiters can also include a starting date. The logo, type of contract and address are compulsory to advertise. To boost the advert or to include “urgent”, you can pay extra.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers don’t need an account to apply to job offers. However, if you aren’t located in the right area, the site can prevent you from applying.
The job offers: There are 462 job offers on the site. Most of them are in hospitality and food services. There are currently no internships.
Reactivity: There is chat support (during office hours).
Special features: The job alerts; chat support; the articles; the congratulations section (for new jobs or promotions); confidential offers; the app.
Verdict: HotellerieJobs has more than enough to keep its users happy. Jobs and news, as well as positive messages about new jobs and promotions. It’s a friendly job board, which is very easy to use.
