Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Helplavoro is a popular generalist job board in Italy despite some esthetic and filter flaws. It gets about 1.16 million visits a month (which are mostly direct hits) and it has 19 708 followers on Facebook. Oddly enough, they no longer have a Linkedin page, which seems to have been replaced by Network Global Service. Helplavoro is particularly interesting because of its CV-database, which enables recruiters to find the right candidates.
Design: Despite the moving logos at the top of the page (which lead to company pages or career pages), there are no images on the dominantly yellow website. The company pages are standardized and purely informative (they include the job offers within the company) and to access other job offers, you can use the search engine in two parts (keywords and location) or the panels on the homepage to filter your search directly by regions, profession, sector or education. Each job offer indicates the deadline, the job title, the company name, the vacancies and the location. If you open the offer, you also get the type of job, the publication date, the category, the sector and a description. Filters are on the right-hand side (which only allows you to view protected categories, non-protected categories or both). Protected categories are jobs that are protected by the State.
The job board objective: Helplavoro (with means “Job Help”) aims to do just that: help you find a job.
Recruiter observations: For information about posting, you need to write to the website. It’s possible to advertise in English but with Italian keywords. You also need a TVA number, a fiscal number and an Italian postcode. Even if you have all the right information, the team checks your account before activating it completely.
Jobseeker observations: When you apply to a job offer, you have the option of using a different CV and of including a message. Since there’s a deadline on the job offers, you can be sure they are updated.
The job offers: The following sectors all have about 500 job offers: engineer, technician, mechanic, director positions, sales, salesperson, waitressing positions, administrational positions, logistics positions and others. Currently, there are approximately 6 150 job offers.
Reactivity: They respond quickly with a lot of useful information. They even include a PDF with additional statistics about their productivity (compared to other popular Italian job boards).
Special features: The blog (a new article each month).
Verdict: You won’t love Helplavoro, but the team is helpful and you can always advertise on the website with a link leading to your own career page for better branding.
