Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: FE Careers is a specialist job board for education professionals. The site has been around for over 15 years and it has ties with Allthetopbananas Group and Chimeara Limited. There are 760 followers on LinkedIn, 3 568 on Twitter and no Facebook page (but offers can be shared on the site). The site also attracts many visits a month (about 6 570).
Design: The job board design is very similar to a Madgex job board design. The search engine (keywords and location) appears over a backdrop image of phones in people’s hands. The rest of the page features job offers and companies. It also explains the foundation of the company and that of Apprenticeship. In the job listing, the filters (job title, location, radius, date posted, type of hours, salary, job role) appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Job offers display the logo, salary (when provided) and the publication date. Useful information, including the publication date, closing date and starting date, appear at the top of an open job offer. Some job offers even have an easy 1-click apply option.
The job board objective: FE Careers (FE stands for Further Education) strives to offer education job opportunities to people around the world.
Recruiter observations: The prices are online and it is very easy for an employer to register.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account.
The job offers: There are currently 777 job offers online. Most are for permanent positions.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly and they are quite funny.
Special features: The blog; Career Tips (nothing new since 2015); the video in the “About Us” section; the 1-click apply; job alerts.
Verdict: FE Careers has a user-friendly design and it provides more than a few job offers for its users. A category filter would be appreciated but as a specialist job board it already has a limited audience.
