Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2002, EnvironmentJob has helped many companies find great employees. Even if the “About Us” information is brief, it is sufficient. The company is owned by Working Planet Limited. On social media, the specialist job board is followed by 10 100 people on Twitter and 3 622 on Facebook. There are also 1 041 members on LinkedIn. The site itself attracts 219 020 visits a month, mostly from the UK. All money earned through advertising, the site donates a percentage to charity.
Design: From the moment you open the webpage, you are in the thick of things. There is a search engine (keywords) and a list of job offers. If you scroll down, you’ll also see different filters (sector, location, region, job function, level, full/part-time), which indicate how many jobs are in each category. There is a countdown on jobs, which are almost expired and a publication date on those, which were recently published. Logos and the salary are also visible in the listing. An open job offer has useful information at the top (including the salary, a website and an email address), a map on the left-hand side and a description of the job.
The job board objective: The objective of EnvironmentJob is clear: it hopes to enable companies working in the environmental field to find great candidates.
Recruiter observations: To register, recruiters need to include the organisation name, the address, the postcode and a telephone number. The prices are online but there is no CV database.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to register. However, jobseekers don’t really need an account to apply since application information is provided.
The job offers: There are currently 220 job offers online. Most of the jobs are in conservation and wildlife.
Reactivity: You can contact the team on Facebook. They also answer very quickly via email.
Special features: The testimonials; the courses (which includes filters); job alerts; the volunteer positions; the news; the key figures; application advice.
Verdict: It’s a shame that there isn’t more news in the news section or links to other developments concerning environmental issues. That said, those are merely special features. The most important thing is being able to order an advert, create an account and find candidates and you can do all of this.
