Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: eMed Careers, which was created in 2006, belongs to the StepStone group, just ike Jobsite and Totaljobs. Since October, the traffic has dropped significantly, down to about 15 630 visits a month. Furthermore, the social media has stopped since 2017 for the 314 followers on Twitter and 526 followers on Facebook. That said, this specialist job board for pharmaceutical, biotech, medical or healthcare professionals, still has the benefits of belonging to a large group like access to ad space on other sites and access to a large database of candidates.
Design: The focus of the homepage is the search engine (keywords and location), which appears over an image of medical professionals in an operating room. There are no lists or featured jobs on the homepage. Once in the job listing, you can refine your search thanks to filters (keywords, radius, location, salary, publication date, job type, related jobs, popular employers) and you can sorted the offers by date, relevance and the salary. Logos, salaries and publication dates are visible in the job listing. When you open a job offer, you are usually redirected to Totaljobs, which means the recruiters use TotalJobs to post.
The job board objective: eMed Careers (which refers to online medical careers) helps those in fields relating to medicine find relevant career opportunities.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters will be happy to know that there is a CV database and you can purchase job offers online. Actually, from the moment you order a slot, you’re actually going through Totaljobs and the same is true for your account.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account with Totaljobs.
The job offers: There are currently more than 23 000 jobs online.
Reactivity: The team answers within 24 hours on average.
Special features: Job alerts; the easy job offer price calculator; the blog (nothing new since 2017).
Verdict: Clearly, 2017 was a pivotal year for eMed Careers. Since then, the social media activity and blog have stopped, but the job offers continue to appear on the site from what has been posted on Totaljobs. You’ll need to go through Totaljobs for the offers but at least eMed Careers allows you to sort through them more easily.
