Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2002, disabledperson is focused on employment for disabled people. The specialist job board is for the United States. On their social media, there are just lists of recent job offers for the 2 021 followers on Facebook and 1 050 on Twitter. There are also another 3 690 followers on LinkedIn. It attracts 66 500 visits a month, mostly from the United States.
Design: The design is simple but not very attractive. There are large pale-coloured boxes for the search engine (keywords and location) and the services. In the job listing, there are no logos but there are publication dates (indicating that the jobs are no older than a month). You can find information about the categories, cities and states with the most job opportunities in the various lists.
The job board objective: Disabledperson wants to focus on the skills disabled employees can bring to the table.
Recruiter observations: The prices are online. Recruiters accounts have a slightly longer form to fill out than jobseeker accounts.
Jobseeker observations: If you are redirected to another site, you’ll be asked to provide your e-mail address. Creating an account is easy but you do have to provide your location (in America).
The job offers: According to the website, there are tens of thousands of job offers on the site. Most of them are in general business, legal and other (you can see the number of jobs per category in the category list). The top cities are Chicago and New York.
Reactivity: --
Special features: the scholarships (of which there are none right now); the donations; the resources (11 articles on disability and related topics).
Verdict: If you want to recruit disabled people, then you don’t always have that many options. Disabledperson provides services and information for a better outreach to the desired candidates.
