Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Devex considers itself a global development community, with services for members and recruiters as well as courses and events. Created in 2000, Devex has indeed come a long way. Today, it has a global outreach, attracting 802 140 visits per month (25% from the US and the rest is from other places in the world). The social media is particularly popular, with 83 900 followers on Twitter, 155 500 on Facebook, 28 015 on LinkedIn, 4 946 on YouTube and 3 805 on Instagram.
Design: From the homepage, simply click on “Jobs” at the top of the page. A search engine (keywords, location) appears with the additional filters (sector, organisation, job level, position level, posted date, job stage, job type) already visible. Once in the job listing, the information is clear. Expiry dates, publication dates and logos (for those with one) are visible. Offers can be sorted by relevance, publication date or the closing date. Recruiters have the freedom to design the job description however they want.
The job board objective: Devex aims to be the largest global community for those hoping to develop and improve the world, making it easier to find candidates and job opportunities.
Recruiter observations: You can look through the members for free (with limited access), and the site even recommends other members to check out. You must type in a name. As for job posting, it’s very easy and you see the prices once you’ve filled in the job information.
Jobseeker observations: Most of the time, jobseekers don’t even need an account since they can apply to job offers and get redirected to the company page.
The job offers: There are currently 4 553 job offers on the site. Most of the jobs are mid-level and senior-level jobs. Jobs are from all over the world.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The app; the YouTube videos; the About Us section; the key figures; recruiting insights; events.
Verdict: Devex is user-friendly with different services depending on what you need. As a global site, the only issue is visibility because clearly it will work better in some countries than others.
