Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2013, CyberSecurity is a specialist job board, which belongs to SATOS Media. The parent company specialises in security, cyber security and policing, so he runs a couple of job boards, events and training courses. The current director is Sean Symth. On social media, the following is small, but the site is a niche job board: 1 229 followers on Twitter, 1 676 on Facebook and a private group on LinkedIn. You can also find a LinkedIn with 2 801 followers, but it’s a bit harder to track down. Knowing that there are followers and updated pages mean that you can get an idea of the visibility despite there being no clear information online.
Design: The colour scheme is black and green to reflect the cryptic online world and the focus is on the job search. You can use the search engine (keywords, the location and the radius) or browse different categories. As you scroll down, the page becomes white and displays featured jobs, featured recruiters (who are all hiring) and the latest news from their blog. At the bottom of the page, there’s a brief summary of the company and access to the recruiter page. The job site also offers courses. As a Madgex job board, the job listing includes featured job offers (in green) and filters on the left-hand side: the location, the sector, the job role, the salary band, the job type and the recruiter type. Different browsing and searching options are available. The job title, salary information, location and company name can be seen without opening an offer. Other useful information (like the expiry date) is visible when the offer is opened (but you can see a countdown before that if the offer has almost expired). Finally, you can look through the different recruiters and companies (in alphabetical order). You can even use the small search engine to find a specific one or to view only recruiters or only direct employers, but there aren’t any company pages.
The job board objective: CyberSecurity Jobsite presents different security related professions and events in one place to improve the hiring in that field.
Recruiter observations: It’s easy for recruiters to create an account and order an advert online. If you don’t have a VAT number, you can tick “VAT exempt”.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can request a CV review from TopCV for free when creating their account. It is also possible to alter the CV visibility (and you can exclude specific recruiters). There is a very detailed online CV to fill out with a focus on the current role and the new role.
The job offers: There are currently 821 jobs on the website, most of which are for cyber security consultant positions or software developer positions.
Reactivity: The team answers quickly and they are friendly.
Special features: The job of the week; job alerts; the CyberSecurity Expo; the events; the blog; the visibility options (excluding specific recruiters); the “What is Cyber Security” section; the courses.
Verdict: CyberSecurity is an easy-to-use job board with interesting (updated) job offers. If you have worked on a Madgex job board before, then you will have no trouble navigating your way around this one. More branding would be appreciated.
