Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created by designers and launched in 1997, Coroflot is the sister site to Core77, which also features job offers (among other things). Core77 was created first, but the two compliment each other. One of the co-founders in Eric Ludlum. Coroflot is a specialist job board for designers and those who wish to hire them. There are 47 770 followers on Facebook, 16 500 on Twitter (just a list of job offers); 3 388 on Instagram and 1 977 on LinkedIn. There are over 6 million unique visitors to the Pinterest page per month. Speaking of traffic, the site itself attracts 664 400 visitors a month. Most of the traffic comes from the US but it is also from India, the UK, Germany and many more countries.
Design: The homepage does not feature a search engine. Instead, there is an image of a woman behind two different options: post a job or join as talent. You can also view top companies from the homepage and popular designs (with the designers’ names underneath). If you aren’t sure about joining yet, then you can click on Design Jobs at the top of the page to browse offers, Designers to browse freelancers, Projects to see designs and Salaries (which you can only view with an account). In the job listing, there are filters (keywords, location, specialties, job level) on the left-hand side. Above the listing, there are popular searches to help jobseekers find what they want. Job offers have large logos, publication dates and the level of the position. From this same page, you can bring up the companies (which also display logos in a grid, and the number of current vacancies). Recruiters can browse designer profiles, and use the filters (keywords, location, radius, experience, willing to work remoting/relocate, authorized to work in the US, availability).
The job board objective: Coroflot has created a user-friendly website for designers to display their work and promote their skills. Both useful for recruiters and jobseekers, Coroflot has much to offer its users.
Recruiter observations: The prices are online. It’s easy for recruiters to create an account and order job offers.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy for jobseekers to create an account.
The job offers: There are currently 325 jobs on the site. Most offers are for senior level staff. Industrial design is one of the top specialties.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The blog (in different categories, nothing new since 2018); the salary information; the projects; the designer pages (including the number of projects, views, followers, likes); the app.
Verdict: Coroflot is a great way to stay up-to-date on the design world. The newest creations, the hottest professionals and the companies hiring them. We definitely recommend checking out Coroflot but make sure you give yourself enough time to browse the site for a little while.
