Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Founded in 2000, ConstructionJobs is headed up by Jacob Haug, according to LinkedIn. However, on the site, the featured employee is Dyel Sigmon, the chief operating officer. On social media, there are 510 followers on LinkedIn, 2 013 on Twitter and 20 437 on Facebook. According to SimilarWeb, there are about 71 620 visitors on the site per month, which is up quite a bit compared to December.
Design: On the homepage, the search engine (keywords and location) doesn’t have a search button. To use it, you simply start typing and the job listing appears. In fact, other than featured employers (who are really are hiring), the homepage only presents the job site and its services. Once in the listing, you can use the filters (industry, company, compensation types, employment type) to refine your search. You can even choose to view only the quick apply offers. There are no logos but you can see the logo and publication date. An open job offer has a standard layout, with useful information at the top of the page (including the close date). How to apply is explained at the end of the offer.
The job board objective: ConstructionJobs helps develop the construction industry by putting recruiters in touch with active jobseekers.
Recruiter observations: The prices are online. You can create an account online but a phone number (with the right format) is required. The dashboard is explained in the “Tour” section of the site.
Jobseeker observations: Even though it isn’t difficult to create an account on the site, you must fill out parts of your online CV (current job, contract info, work experience or education history).
The job offers: the industry with the most job offers is general construction and industrial. There are 3 916 job offers.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The blog.
Verdict: When recruiting for the construction sector, it can be particularly challenging to find candidates. It’s a bit unfortunate that there is no CV database, but the job board offers additional services to ensure job offers get visibility. For international users, a change to the phone number requirements would be nice.
