Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2003, Sales Jobs (and Computer Jobs) have been providing Ireland with the best access to jobs through niche job boards. The websites are run by Jobs Online Group IE and have a similar design. Sales Jobs targets sales professionals and focuses on the Irish market. It has a Twitter account with no updates since 2017 and only 1 025 followers. However, the Linkedin is slightly more promising with914 followers. There is no Facebook, no information on the staff and the visibility is unknown as far as SimilarWeb is concerned.
Design: The colour scheme is dominantly white and red, with a mouse for the logo. Everything is very clear, from different access buttons (recruiter or jobseeker) at the top of the page, to various categories under the search engine (location, category, keywords) to featured jobs and recruiters (five of the twelve recruiters are not hiring). The website also has a few testimonials on the homepage. The job listing is particularly clear, indicating the job title, the company, salary information, the category and the publication date for each job offer. However, the filters are particularly limited (category, location and keywords).
The job board objective: Computer Jobs targets jobseekers looking for work in IT.
Recruiter observations: As a recruiter, you register on the website for a call back.
Jobseeker observations: You must have an Irish address in your CV to register; or at least, that’s what the website says when you register. To apply to job offers, a cover letter is provided and you need to upload a CV. If you do not answer the questions in the application correctly (like, “are you in Ireland?”), your application can be refused.
The job offers: Software developer/engineer is what most job vacancies require. In total, there are 749 job offers.
Reactivity: --
Special features: The compliance test; the career advice (no dates on the articles); the job of the week; interview advice; the Brightwater salary survey 2018; the contractor corner; job alerts; CV templates.
Verdict: Since the visibility is unknown, it’s difficult to estimate how successful Sales Jobs is. What we do know is that the website is easy to use, updated and the team answers quickly. If that’s enough for you, then go for Computer Jobs!
