Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: According to EasyCounter, ClicandSea belongs to Nicolas Mejane. What is sure is that ClicandSea, a specialist job board for maritime jobs, is a part of a much bigger network of niche job boards. This particular site has been around since 2005, putting jobseekers in touch with relevant recruiters and keeping them updated on their field of expertise. Unfortunately, ClicandSea has not been successful as some of the other niche sites, which is evident from the social media followers (1 005 on Facebook and 806 on Twitter, with nothing new since 2017) and the traffic (about 10 000 visits a month).
Design: The homepage features the search engine (keywords and location), a list of job offers and news from the industry (from their blog). ClicandSea has kept a relatively outdated font for their job board but they have all the essential information. To access, the job offers, a keyword is required. Once you have accessed the listing, you have some filters (the location, the type of contract, the company, the job, the experience) to help with your search. Offers are sorted by date or relevance. Even if the branding could be improved, the job offers are clear (split into three parts: presentation of the company, job description, the candidate profile). The recruiter portal displays a number of different packages. Most of the offers on the site come from Pole Emploi, the French National Employment Office.
The job board objective: ClicandSea is one of the few job boards out there with only maritime job offers.
Recruiter observations: It’s really easy to create an account and create a job offer. You can post your job offer as anonymous.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers don’t need an account to apply to jobs.
The job offers: According to the site, there are 316 job offers right now. Since a keyword is required, it’s not possible to know which job is on the site the most.
Reactivity: The team answers within a day.
Special features: The mobile version; the forum; the salary sheet; the list of partner websites.
Verdict: It is pretty impressive that the Clicand Group has created so many different job boards and that it is diligent enough to keep the different salary sheets and social media updated. It’s worth checking out if you’re in the maritime field so you don’t have to risk seeing irrelevant jobs.
