Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2010, Careesma.in is just one of a number of job boards owned by Intercom World Wide (or Grupo Intercom, which is the same thing), including one in Austria, Poland and Italy. It is down by over 1 million views per month since 2015 but Careesma.in remains a popular job board in India with about 1 million views per month still recorded by SimilarWeb. the Twitter account hasn’t been updated for 2 years, and the Facebook hasn’t been updated for over a year.
Design: Contrary to some of the more popular job boards in India, Careesma has a slightly emptier homepage. The colours are mostly yellow, white and gray. The search bar lets you enter a keyword and a location (or try an advanced search). They advertise a number of job categories and companies on the homepage. The job offers usually don’t have images (at the most, they have the company logo) and the text takes up at least 2/3 of the screen. As for the categories on the right-hand side to help filter the jobs, they aren’t in boxes but a number of available jobs per different sub-category is in brackets.
The job board objective: According to Careesma, they aim to send people to work with a smile by getting them the right job
Recruiter observations: You can’t create an account until your company has been validated. Even if you create a free job post, they check your offer (an algorithm won’t let you send it if you haven’t given the job requirements) and your company. Only then will they call you back to discuss your options. While you wait, you can check out the “help” section which gives you an insight into the different aspects of a recruiter profile.
Jobseeker observations: It’s a bit tedious to create an account. You can save up to 5 different resumes which can be handy. Depending on the job, you can apply though the job board or you are redirected to the website. All you have to do is send in a CV and complete the cover letter section. Easy! The “job alert” pop-up is a bit annoying though.
The job offers: According to the website, there are 92 211 jobs on the job board. You can’t look them up by country, only by city. Most of the job offers are in medicine, engineering, IT and manufacturing (you have to click on each category to get the information though). Beware: A lot of the “top companies” aren’t even advertising any jobs at the moment. You can post an advert for 60 days for free (but you will need to consult with someone over the phone first).
Reactivity: Still waiting.
Special features: Auto-reply (for your job offers); personalized job alerts; blog (last post: January 2016); resume list.
Verdict: A number of other websites in India are more popular (Naukri, Shine, etc.), which isn’t surprising when you consider how much information hasn’t been updated. That said, Careesma offers free publicity, so there’s no harm in using it.
