Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 1999, CanadaJobs offers recruiters and jobseekers a free platform for jobs in Canada. The site attracts 76 380 visits a month (with many ups and down), only 18% of which come from Canada, followed by India, the UK, the US and Mexico. It has lost almost half its visitors since last month but from the past activity, it is sure to pick up. On social media, the team is active on Twitter for 1 802 followers, but it hasn’t been on Facebook for a couple of years for the 5 629 followers.
Design: On Canada Jobs, the font is small and there aren’t many images on the homepage. It’s very simple. You can use the search engine (keywords and location) to start your search or click on one of the suggested categories. In the job listing, there are no publication dates or logos or filters.
The job board objective: CanadaJobs strives to provide free access to job opportunities.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can post for free, and the site isn’t very difficult about required fileds.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers cannot create an account but they can apply to job offers thanks to the application information in each offer.
The job offers: There are 299 direct offers.
Reactivity: There is no contact information.
Special features: The articles (no publication dates); the immigration information.
Verdict: It’s great to have free posting, but CanadaJobs isn’t the best job board out there as far as UX design, filters and branding are concerned. You might want to use this job site in addition to another one.
