Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: The generalist job board Bolji Posao has been around since 2007, helping people in Central European countries find work. According to the website, it belongs to Oglasnik d.o.o, which is a Croatian classifieds website, but it appears to operate from Bosnia (the address is in Bosnia). Oglasnik also owns Posao in Croatia and the two job boards have the same layout in different colours. Unfortunately, the visibility is unknown, but the social media is updated regularly for the 25 934 Facebook followers and 58 on Twitter. The website also has 521 followers on Linkedin.
Design: To find bolji posao (better jobs), you have to focus on the jobs and that’s exactly what the website has done on the homepage. It is full of company logos with their job offers listed underneath. On the side, articles and news relating to work are featured. The top of the website has three panels to help navigate around the website: the home, the jobseeker and the recruiter. In the home panel, you can access information about the company, news, tools and career advice. To look for work, there is a search engine (keywords, the category and the location). You can also see lists of jobs by sector, by region, by city or the most popular searches (with the number of offers per category). Other than the search engine, there are no other filters. The visible information before opening a job offers is the expiry date, the company, the location and the job title, but if you open them, you can also see a long description of the job and the requirements (depending on what the company has included). For some, the branding is quite good.
The job board objective: Bolji Posao (which means “better job”) wants to help people get better jobs.
Recruiter observations: You can only access the pricing information if you create an account, but that’s very easy to do. You are expected to fill in the information about your company (like the tax number, the zip code, the registration number and the address) afterward. You can browse CVs, but personal details are hidden.
Jobseeker observations: It’s very easy to create an account, and to apply to job offers (you just send a CV and a message, along with your personal details).
The job offers: There are 283 job offers online at the moment, with most of them in other, science & education, public service & administration and tourism. The job offers are from all over Central Europe.
Reactivity: --
Special features: the quote above the search engine; The CV Wizard, the job alerts; the news (from various newspapers); the blog (in Bosnian); the feedback options (at the bottom of the page).
Verdict: Bolji Posao might be easy to use, but it could use a make-over and, more importantly, https:// security. It’s worth checking out for the news and blog articles.
