Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2011 by Avia Solutions Group, AviationCV is an aviation specialist job board with job offers from all over the world. The headquarters are in Lithuania (even though the website says they’re in New York and Singapore) and Gediminas Ziemelis is one of the current chairmen at Avia Solutions Group, an internationally recognised Lithuanian businessman. According to SimilarWeb, as many as 169 130 views are recorded each month from many different countries (the US being the one with the most viewers). The social media is doing rather well: 360 followers on Youtube, 14 139 on Linkedin, 231 on Twitter (the account was created last year) and 94 706 on Facebook.
Design: The website has an attractive design, with a large backdrop image of a plane flying over mountains and still water. The search engine is at the very top of the page (keywords and location) and four search panels (pilot jobs, engineering jobs, cabin crew jobs or office jobs) appear over the image to help find the right job offers. Within each panel, there are a number of job categories. The rest of the page shows featured employers (all of which are hiring). In the footer, you can also find popular searches. Once in the job listing, you can use the filters (the job role, the location, the aircraft type, the company, the monthly salary, the job type and the last updates) to cull the offers or you can go through the company pages. In the company listing (which appears as a grid), some companies have recruiter ratings to help jobseekers choose where to apply. The pages can be quite simple with just a description of the company and the current job offers, or they can include the different company bases, other carriers, pilot testimonials, videos, destinations, salary and benefits information, the fleet and the fleet growth. For job offers, both the publication date and expiry date are visible in the listing. If you open a post, you can also see the salary information (when provided), recommended jobs (on the left-hand side) and the description and requirements.
The job board objective: AviationCV makes it easy for recruiters to access relevant jobseeker CVs and for jobseekers to find the right aviation opportunities.
Recruiter observations: It’s easy to create an account and you can even post for free once your job offer has been approved. Recruiters have a dashboard with statistics and visibility of their job offers.
Jobseeker observations: To apply to job offers, you need to be logged in. You can create a CV on your profile, which you can then send to relevant job offers with the click of a button.
The job offers: There are 1 768 job offers. Most of the offers are for pilots or maintenance repair engineers.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly and they are very friendly.
Special features: The blog; the events (screenings and roadshows); the list of pilot requirements; the cadet program; the aviation career opportunities in China; information on engineering careers in maintenance; free posting; the Youtube videos; the recruiter ratings.
Verdict: AviationCV is an impressive addition to the different aviation job boards out there. The team provides job offers, as well as advice for a career in aviation. For recruiters and jobseekers alike, it can definitely be handy to browse the website.
