Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Ian Partington, the CEO and founder of the Simplyjobs job boards, and the group also owns a number of job boards, which don’t have Simply in the name. Aviation Job Search is one of them. The layout is quite similar to the others, but this job board wasn’t created by the team, it was acquired later on. It has been around since 1999, but the current layout is far more recent. The recruitment page has a very direct advertisement approach: “No really, we are the best”. You have to admire their directness. On social media, the site has a small group of followers: 3 480 on Linkedin, 12 900 on Twitter and 128 646 on Facebook. About 241 840 visits are recorded on SimilarWeb every month (with only a little over 10 percent of that coming from the UK). The website is available in German, English and American English.
Design: The dominant colour is blue and the homepage includes a backdrop image of a plane. The page is mostly made up of different groups of jobs: the recently viewed, the featured employers (most of which are hiring), recommended jobs and latest jobs. To access the job listing, you can use the groups or the search engine (keywords and the location). From there, you can use the filters (the location, the job category, the salary band, the job types, the company type, the sector, the aircraft type and the last updates – with the number of offers per category in brackets) to cull the job offers. Featured jobs appear on the right-hand side and similar jobs appear next to the open job offer with easy-to-use scroll buttons. The information on the website isn’t completely accurate. It can indicate that all the job offers displayed have been updated within the last month and yet, the posting dates are sometimes months, if not a year, old. There are expiry dates (indicated above the offer), which is always reassuring when unsure about how the offers are updated. You can sort the offers by their newness or their expiry dates.
The job board objective: Aviation Job Search makes it easier for aviation professionals to find a job. Much like the other SimplyJobs job boards, by focusing on one industry, Aviation Job Search hopes to target relevant candidates.
Recruiter observations: You can also purchase a package online and just fill out some basic information about yourself and the company. Otherwise, you’ll have to contact the team for a demo.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers need an account to apply to job offers.
The job offers: There are 11 871 job offers. Most of them are in the UK, for engineering jobs and office jobs.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly.
Special features: The jobs of the week; the blog; the survey; the courses; the forum.
Verdict: Aviation Job Search is a great place to start for a recruitment campaign in aviation. The offers are from all over the world and for a variety of positions.
