Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: AgriFoodMatch is a specialist job board with a focus on the agriculture and farming sectors created in 2007. Present in six different countries (the UK, Belgium, Germany, France, Netherlands and Poland), the job board hopes to expand soon (according to the website) to cover more European countries. We couldn’t find a Facebook, but there is a Twitter page (677 followers) and a Linkedin page (1 917 followers). No blog and little to no information about the origins of the job board make it difficult to see how the company has evolved. The website was designed by Otsy, a recruitment software company in the Netherlands, and the owner, Christel Janssen, is Dutch. The headquarters are on the boarder of Germany and the Netherlands.
Design: As far as the website design is concerned, the images of farm animals and various food or drink products are quite colourful and attractive. However, when you start actually using the site, it becomes apparent that it isn’t all that attractive (or known) to employers. There are six different possible country portals but only the Netherlands have more than five job offers. Depending on the country portal, the partners, the job offers and the contact information are not the same and neither are the images. The search engine (location, industry, type of position and keywords) is on the side, and the rest of the homepage is mostly empty because of the lack of job offers. You probably won’t need any filters (the same as the search engine) but they’re there.
The job board objective: AgriFoodMatch aims to connect agriculture and food professionals with the right industries looking to hire.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can register but the request needs to be validated.
Jobseeker observations: There doesn’t seem to be a registration portal. However, when you apply to job offers, a registration form pops up and the website stores the details for a maximum of 28 days.
The job offers: The job offers are quite limited: 1 in the UK, 36 in the Netherlands, 4 in Belgium, 4 in Germany, 1 in France and 0 in Poland.
Reactivity: We never received a response.
Special features: Job alerts; the newsletter; the explanatory video.
Verdict: Unfortunately, AgriFoodMatch (or AgriMatch) doesn’t have enough of an outreach to offer relevant job offers to food professionals. Maybe in time, it will attract more employers. Until then, jobseekers should also use other portals to look for work.
