Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Founded in 2015, AdView is an aggregator with a small following on social media (303 followers on LinkedIn, 823 on Twitter and 340 on Facebook). Like most aggregators, it is rather minimalistic but it remains a handy tool for those who aren’t sure which job board to choose for their search because everyone is listed in one convenient place. Shane McGourty heads up the team.
Design: A very minimalistic homepage, which just features a search engine (keywords and the location) and some other links to different pages on their site, like the list of companies or the list of all the imaginable job titles on the UK job boards. The site also offers indexing for job feed to job boards. Once in the listing, the filters (salary range, salary type, radius, job type) appear in-between the job listing and other information relating to the chosen keyword. You can sort by date or relevancy. In addition to the filters, there are advance search options, which include the filter options as well as the percentage of the words appearing in the results and where they appear. Each job offer includes a logo, publication time and the salary (when it is provided) in the listing. The company name and job title are also required. For job offers posted directly through AdView, the salary is required as well.
The job board objective: AdView hopes to make it easier for jobseekers to find and understand their profession and for recruiters to find workers.
Recruiter observations: You can become a partner or join the publisher program. You can also create an account in less than no time, to then you can post for free.
Jobseeker observations: Since Adview is an aggregator, you don’t need to create an account, but you can set up job alerts. The job board redirects you to the job board hosting the job offer.
The job offers: As an aggregator, Adview literally has millions of job offers.
Reactivity: The team answers quickly.
Special features: the blog; the press section; the list of every imaginable job title (in alphabetical order); job alerts; the list of popular UK companies.
Verdict: If you aren’t sure we’re to start your job search in the UK, AdView can definitely put you onto the right track. Find out what's out there and what other places are offering before settling on one position.
